SCREENINGS:
Cervical Screening
- All women aged 25 to 64 are invited for cervical screening every 5 years to check the health of their cervix. Cervical screening used to be called a smear test.
- Everyone with a cervix should go for cervical screening.
- If you're a trans man or non-binary and have a cervix, you can speak to your GP, sexual health clinic or transgender health clinic about getting invitations routinely.
- The cervix is the opening to your womb from your vagina.
- It's not a test for cancer; it's a test to help prevent cancer.
NHS Health Check:
The NHS Health Check is a free check-up of the health of your heart and blood vessels (cardiovascular health). It can tell you whether you're at higher risk of getting certain health problems, such as:
The check is for people who are aged 40 to 74 who do not have any pre-existing conditions. You will be invited to an NHS Health Check by your GP or you can contact us for further information
Over 75 Health Check:
Patients aged 75 and over are entitled to an annual health check to assess their physical and mental health, mobility, and social environment.
